Avdeling Design valgte i år å gi stipend til følgende kandidater:
Kandidatene blir tildelt kr 12.000 hver.
Christa Barlinn Korvald, avgangsstudent på Master i Design, for avgangsprosjektet «Folk og skjermer i 25.juni-saken»
Juryens begrunnelse:
Magdalena Mikalsen, avgangsstudent på Master i Design, for avgangsprosjektet «Memorywork – The forgotten pictures»
Juryens begrunnelse:
The work presents a very interesting, self-developed (design) approach called memofication (combining memory with fiction and imagination). The memories are captured in existing textile items and expanded on with absurdist approaches to shape and form, as such create a new narrative that is neither real or unreal. Applied in the format of a series of films that step by step explores the modification of costume (as silent actor) and narrative alike, shows playfulness and determination. The project «Memorywork – The forgotten pictures» shows a personal memory but speaks to a universal nostalgia and as such connects to an audience. The work shows an exciting flexibility; it can work in/as film, but also in an exhibition or a fashion show.
Charlotte Mathilde Friis, avgangsstudent på Master i Design, for avgangsprosjektet «Krillfangerens dans»
Juryens begrunnelse:
This ambitious project focuses on eating as social and cultural ritual, where series of investigations, driven by curiosity, creativity and willingness to take risks are exploring the meeting point between design and biology. By proposing a fictional future scenario, candidate has delved into the scientific and biological technicalities enabling human body to live in new ecosystems. Candidate has aptitudes to communicate the work with clarity, elegance and precision, being both confident and open for reflection, while being an interdisciplinary designer, bridging two different fields and disciplines: medicine and design in the project «Krillfangerens dans».
